ASGBI Ltd
Introduction
As Fellows will know, the Association (ASGBI) was subject to a Review Visit from the Charity Commission in May 2005, which emphasised that all activities of the Association, as a Registered Charity, must be of public benefit. Thus, certain perceived functions of ASGBI, such as providing membership benefits, were deemed not permissible. However, the Review Visit felt it entirely appropriate that such membership services, and other similar trading activities not of direct public benefit, could be undertaken through the formation of a trading company which was a wholly owned subsidiary of the Association.
ASGBI Ltd raises funds for educational bursaries, fellowships and exchanges in the UK and abroad through the provision of high quality membership products and services.
